About Irrigator Tech
Irrigator Tech was founded with a simple but important belief: the green industry deserved a higher standard of irrigation education.
When Irrigator Tech was established in 2000, there was no formal, industry-recognized training or certification pathway for irrigation professionals. Landscape contractors and technicians were often expected to learn on the job, with limited access to structured education, hands-on training, or credentials that validated their skills and experience.
Irrigator Tech was created to change that.
From the beginning, our focus has been on raising professionalism in the green industry through practical, hands-on training that is easy to understand, engaging, and directly applicable in the field. Our programs were designed to give irrigation professionals the knowledge, confidence, and credentials needed to advance their careers and deliver better results for their customers.
About Our Training
Irrigator Tech is a recognized leader in hands-on, field-focused education for irrigation professionals. Our training programs are built around real-world application, giving students practical skills they can immediately use on the job.
Our core curriculum covers irrigation repair, installation, maintenance, auditing, backflow prevention, and smart water technologies. All courses are non-biased and product-agnostic, ensuring students learn industry’s best practices that apply across manufacturers and systems. In addition to education, Irrigator Tech offers state-recognized certifications that help professionals formally validate their skills and advance their careers.
As part of our continued growth, Irrigator Tech is expanding beyond irrigation to deliver a broader, more comprehensive training platform for the green industry. Upcoming and developing courses include outdoor lighting, synthetic turf, hardscapes, drainage, marketing for contractors, and safety training such as First Aid and CPR.
We offer training paths for all experience levels, from entry-level technicians to advanced professionals. Our emphasis on hands-on learning means less time in the classroom and more time building confidence and competence in the field.

Honoring the Legacy of Richard Daigle
Irrigator Tech was founded by Richard Daigle, a respected leader, educator, and innovator in the irrigation industry whose impact continues to shape the profession today.
With more than three decades of experience in irrigation, landscape maintenance, manufacturing, and distribution, Richard dedicated his career to advancing industry standards and empowering those working in the field. His background included owning and operating landscape maintenance companies, nurseries, irrigation supply businesses, and manufacturing operations, giving him a deep, hands-on understanding of irrigation from every angle.
In 2001, Richard launched Irrigator Tech with a vision to create a hands-on educational program focused on practical irrigation training for service professionals and technicians. What began as a basic certification course grew into a comprehensive training platform serving contractors, municipalities, schools, and organizations across the industry.
Beyond Irrigator Tech, Richard was deeply committed to industry leadership and education. He served in leadership roles with the California Landscape Contractors Association, founded the Green Industry Hall of Fame, and helped establish the Association of Latino Landscape Professionals. His passion for education, recognition, and professional growth left a lasting mark on the green industry.
Richard Daigle’s legacy lives on through the thousands of professionals he trained, mentored, and inspired. His belief in hands-on education, integrity, and continuous improvement remains at the core of Irrigator Tech.
